Hey all you Blake fans,
Just wanted to let you know that I have survived the Hood to Coast run. The largest relay in the nation...197 miles from Mt Hood to Seaside, Oregon. We had 12 runners on the team including my brother Steve and our very good friend Dain (Ben's best friend). It was a blast! My 1st leg of the race was 7.18 miles and started about 10am on Friday, August 22nd. My 2nd and most favorite leg was 3.5 miles and started about 10pm later that night. And last but not least, my 3rd leg started about 6am Saturday morning, it was 4.5 miles and was all up hill. I had nothing left in me after no sleep during either break. This was a time when I envied Ben, because he has the special ability to sleep anywhere, anytime. But I finally finished and it was one of the greatest moments ever! Why I brought this challenge upon myself is beyond me. For those of you that know me, I am not a runner. But have always secretly wanted to be one and I have proved that the body is capable of many things and can be pushed to the limit. I think I will steer clear away for a while from the bananas, bagels and cliff bars. It was one of the most exhausting, yet hillarious 24 hours I have ever experienced. Here are some pics...
